We assess how your child produces sounds in words and sentences, alongside oral-motor skills and coordination. This assessment can also help inform further assessment for childhood apraxia of speech.

Informal Communication Assessment
For children and young people aged 4–18 who need support with communication, including children who are non-verbal, pre-verbal, or using single words or short sentences.
Through play and interaction, we assess understanding, vocabulary, attention, social communication and your child’s preferred way of communicating, including spoken language and AAC.
This assessment may be particularly suitable for children with autism and other communication needs.

For verbal children and young people aged 4–18 who need a more detailed assessment of their spoken language skills.
Using standardised assessments, we look at areas such as vocabulary, grammar, sentence use, understanding, language memory and following complex instructions.
The assessment provides standardised scores to help show how your child’s language skills compare with expectations for their age.

For children and young people who stammer or experience difficulties with speech fluency.
We assess areas such as repetitions, prolongations, blocks, speech rate and overall fluency, as well as how stammering affects confidence and communication in different situations.
We also take a detailed case history to understand when the difficulties began and how they affect everyday communication.

A full written report is available as an add-on to any assessment. It is not automatically included with the assessment booking.

How does the 25% discount work, and when do I pay?
The discount applies automatically when you book, with no code required. It covers all services at Canary Wharf and Brentwood, including online therapy, for appointments taking place from 26–30 October 2026. Payment is required at booking to confirm your appointment.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice. To retain the half-term discount, the rescheduled appointment must still take place from 26–30 October 2026.
Are discounted appointments refundable or transferable?
No. Discounted appointments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Can I use the discount after 30 October?
No. Discounted appointments must take place during the campaign period, from 26–30 October 2026.
